Hi, I’m Denise Rous, and I’m more than just a personal trainer—I’m living proof that transformation is possible, no matter how dark the road may seem.
My journey hasn’t been easy. For years, I battled depression, anxiety, and alcoholism. At my lowest, I weighed 200 pounds and felt completely disconnected from the woman I once was. One day, I looked in the mirror and made the decision to change. Through sheer determination, I dropped down to 135 pounds. But even after the weight loss, I struggled with loose skin, lack of muscle tone, and losing my curves. That’s when I decided it was time to take my fitness and nutrition to the next level.
Just as I was getting serious about building strength, life hit me hard. I had a seizure that led to a shocking diagnosis: a brain tumor. The depression and anxiety came flooding back. Doctors told me I needed surgery. I was scared, exhausted, and overwhelmed—but I made a promise to myself and my husband that once I recovered, I would give my health everything I had.
In November 2024, I underwent brain surgery. The recovery was intense. I lost my speech and couldn’t train like I wanted to. But by January 2025, I began regaining my voice and slowly easing back into workouts. Since then, I’ve been laser-focused—fueling my body with clean nutrition, training hard, and rebuilding from the inside out. Today, I weigh 150 pounds, and I’ve never felt stronger.
I became a personal trainer because I’ve walked through fire—and I came out stronger. I want to help others do the same. My passion lies in working with moms who feel stuck in their “mom body,” unsure how to prioritize themselves. As a mother of two, I get it. But I also know that taking care of ourselves is the best gift we can give our families.
