DEREK JOHNSON
Hello, my name is Derek Johnson. I was born in Oakland, California in May of 1981, and moved to Southern California at the age of 18. I joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in 29 Palms, California, which, if you know, you know. Not exactly the most pleasant place to plant roots, but it built character and a whole lot of discipline that I carry with me to this day.
After my time serving, I settled in Temecula, California, and I've been here ever since.
I've been a personal trainer since 2010, which means I've spent nearly two decades learning what actually works; not just in the gym, but in helping real people create real, lasting change. I've been training out of Self Made Training Facility in Temecula Valley since 2015, and it's the best environment I've ever worked in. The equipment, the culture, the people, it all supports the kind of training I believe in.
My client roster is as diverse as it gets. I work with elderly clients focused on mobility, balance, and quality of life. I work with youth athletes building their foundation. I coach lifestyle clients who just want to feel better in their body and move through their day with more energy. And I work with competitive athletes in Olympic lifting, powerlifting, and bodybuilding who are chasing numbers and standing on stages. No two clients are the same, and that's the part of this job I genuinely love.
